The Labor News
Just a quick glance at the resume of Steven V. Modica, Esq., will indicate this is no ordinary lawyer, but talk to him for a short time and will you realize, personally and professionally, he is truly in a league of his own.
Once you understand who Steve Modica is, you will not be at all surprised that his firm, Modica & Associates, Attorneys, PLLC just celebrated their 20th anniversary on November 1st and it’s full steam ahead on their mission to “help people take action.”
Modica and his staff of eight, including three other lawyers, once licensed Workers’ Compensation representative, and four paraprofessionals, pride themselves on growing their firm “the old fashioned way,” by consistently garnering respect and trust throughout the past two decades.
It would be easy for Modica to tout himself as the fearless leader of his crew, but instead, you will not hear him talk about the firm’s success, or any external accomplishments, without celebrating all those who have helped build the Modica legacy as it is known today.
Modica & Associates is strong, as Steve would tell you, because of the hard work and dedication from his managing partner and wife of 29 years Lorrie Modica, Esq., and the rest of his nationally acclaimed team, Katherine Gavagan, Esq., Gregory Fassler, Esq., Gina Crawford, Lcr., Cynthia Witherspoon, Cynthia Sundlof, Courtney Rowan Gramza and Joyce Guider.
Steve also expresses deep gratitude to the clients and union leaders who offer continued support for the firm; without whom, he says, their traditional structure of success would not have stood the test of time.
Part of the mission at Modica & Associates is a commitment to the community. The team regularly contribute time, talent, and treasure to IUOE Local 158 Charitable Foundation and the Rotary Sunshine Camp, as well as Gilda’s Club of Rochester, American Diabetes Association, Rochester Teen Court, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Alyssa’s Angels, the National MS Society, and the Mental Health Association and Foundation of the Monroe County Bar Association.
The firm has been AV rated for more than 10 years, meaning their work and ethics are of the highest quality based on peer review and judges and lawyers, and has been designated a Best Lawyer & Law Firm in America in Employment Law since 2014.
The Building Trades values the continued relationship with Steve Modica and his team which, for many of our members, has grown into lasting friendship. This firm takes our battles to the courtroom and helps us bring victories to our members. For that, we are forever grateful.
